Over the weekend I collected observational records of four different salamander species. I had the pleasure of finding several Eastern Red-back Salamander (Plethoron cinereus), four Spotted Salamanders (Ambystoma maculatum), two Eastern Newts (Notophthalmus viridescens) and last but not least, two Four-toed Salamanders (Hemidactylium scutatum).
The Four-toed Salamander is an especially good find as they are not commonly observed, so I was very fortunate to be able to see them.
